The proximity to the thought of mathematicians is perhaps at the origin of my passion for painting.
We know well how mathematics is an exact science, but it is equally possible to affirm that painting is the artistic-creative-expressive activity par excellence: this does not exclude that the latter contains within itself the many indispensable and fundamental elements of the former.
At the base of both, there is always and in any case the will to carry out an incessant research activity. Experiments, attempts and ever new experiences that tend, in painting as in science, to travel as much as possible a path of approaching truth, beauty, light .... the much sought-after goal!
Now the symbolism of 314 well represents the concept of Infinity, albeit born enclosed in a finite element: the circle.
The Greek P comes to represent what is unfinished due to the infinite sequence of decimals that make up the magic number. How not to reflect on the fact that we find, as if by magic, the principle of Infinity also in painting: infinite are the forms, without limit the shades of color. The artist's search for improvement of the work is endless.
On the other hand, isn't drawing a set of shared forms in order to create an artistic whole?
Are not mathematical sequences essential elements in the figurative arts to distinguish and remove an aesthetically pleasing creation from chaos?
For this reason I associate my pictorial vision with the Greek P, a symbol not only of the never-ending and of the infinite representations of pictorial art, but also of the noblest goal to which the spirit of an artist can strive: harmony with the surrounding world.
