Vanni

In Brussels of 2 May 1997 Vanni, after having completed his first artistic studies in Rome, enriches his pictorial career in Paris where he lived for several years attending, therefore actively living, the artistic world of the French capital, which has always been a hotbed of art and creativity. The numerous solo exhibitions of the artist and the group exhibitions in which he participated, have always achieved great success with the public and critics, since through his unmistakable pictorial style he offers the possibility to physically see the fruit of long periods spent in the Mediterranean light, in the villages where the dazzling light of calcined white dominates, managing to transmit with particular sensitivity the colors, the harshness of the islands and the grandeur of peoples who have always been used to proudly manage difficult relationships with their land. Vanni's paintings are imbued with sun, colored silences, particular and refined plays of light and shadows, always present in his paintings, so much so as to suggest a symbolic element in that magical relationship of Man with the Universe. The landscapes, like the skies, are clear and bright inhabited by figures who, although barely hinted at, seem to move away from the pictorial core: The blue, the painter seems to tell us, is the color of dreams, the white of absence. The true colors of the Mediterranean.
